Consort Digital Reflects on Key Industry Trends from CCW26

Brief

CCW26 once again brought together the global critical communications community to discuss the technologies shaping the future of public safety, transport, utilities and industrial communications.

As a provider of 3GPP standards-based mission-critical communication solutions, Consort Digital was proud to be part of these conversations—showcasing the MCX ONE platform, demonstrating our latest innovations, and engaging with customers, partners and industry experts from around the world.

Beyond the exhibition, several clear industry trends emerged that closely align with the direction in which Consort Digital has been investing.

FRMCS is Becoming a Reality

FRMCS was undoubtedly one of the strongest themes at CCW26. Discussions have moved beyond standards and trials to practical deployment strategies, migration planning and interoperability.

This is an area where Consort Digital is actively contributing. At CCW26, we presented our MCX ONE Platform as a future-ready communication solution designed to support the railway industry's transition towards FRMCS. Our speaking session also highlighted the deployment of India's first indigenous 5G mission-critical railway communication pilot, demonstrating how open, standards-based technologies can support the evolution of railway communications.

The Industry is Embracing Evolution, Not Replacement

One of the most encouraging observations was the industry's changing approach to broadband migration.

Rather than positioning Mission Critical Broadband as a replacement for TETRA, discussions increasingly focused on coexistence, interworking and phased migration.

This philosophy has long been reflected in Consort Digital's approach. Our solutions are designed to integrate with existing communication systems while enabling organisations to adopt broadband technologies at their own pace, protecting previous investments and ensuring operational continuity.

Requirement of an Integrated Mission-Critical Ecosystems

Across industries, organisations are looking beyond individual products. The focus is now on complete communication ecosystems that combine voice, video, data, dispatch, devices and network infrastructure into a unified platform.

This is exactly the vision behind the MCX ONE Platform. From mission-critical voice and video to dispatch solutions, broadband devices and deployment flexibility across Edge, Enterprise and Cloud, our platform is built to deliver an integrated communication experience for diverse operational environments.

The Road Ahead

CCW26 reaffirmed that the industry is entering an exciting phase of transformation. FRMCS is gathering momentum, broadband adoption is accelerating, and customers increasingly expect open, interoperable and scalable communication platforms.

For Consort Digital, these trends validate the direction of our innovation. We remain committed to developing standards-based mission-critical communication solutions that help organisations modernise their operations while ensuring reliability, interoperability and future readiness.

We thank everyone who visited our booth, attended our conference session, and engaged with us during CCW26. We look forward to continuing these conversations as we work together to shape the future of critical communications.
