Many Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Mission-Critical Push-to-Talk (MCPTT) solutions are available today, and some will be rolled out and operational soon. One big issue that all vendors and purchasers of these solutions face is that there is no testing and certification process available to prove their 3GPP standards-compliance. The Global Certification Forum (GCF) and TCCA have combined their expertise and established a Joint Task Force for mission-critical products certification. The task force has worked from January until June 2020 and assessed the possibilities for a certification scheme, conducting a gap analysis in terms of frequency bands and mission-critical functionalities compared with current available processes in GCF.
